• identify the audience and purpose of a documentary movie

Procedure

1. Do Now (in writing workshop): What is your opinion of Morgan Spurlock and the movie he has made?

2. Discuss

3. Watch the last section of the movie.

4. Mini-lesson: Audience and Purpose in writing

5. Students will write in their notebooks who they think the audience for the movie was (along with justification) and what the purpose of it was (along with justficiation. We will share and discuss.

Assessment

Were students able to identify the audience and purpose of the movie? Were they able to justify their choices?
